Application
  • ACETONE exhibits characteristic reactions of aliphatic ketones
  • ACETONE,  because of its powerful solvent actions finds very wide applications as solvent, solvent vechile, crystallization and extraction solvent
  • ACETONE  is an active solvent for surface coating lacquers based on cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyrate etc. It is also used for vinyl and acrylic lacquers and printing inks.
  • ACETONE  is an important chemical intermediate for drugs and pharmaceuticals like penterol-2-3 methyl butanol-1, chloroform, bromoform, iodoform, ionone, sulphonal, trional, vitamins, sulfamethaxazole etc.
  • ACETONE  is a raw material for methyl methacrylate, Bisphenol-A, Diacetone Alcohol , Isophorone and many dyestuff Intermediates. It is also used as solvent in the production of acetate fibres, cordite, dynamite, TNT etc.
  • ACETONE  is used for extraction of natural oils, fats, essential oils etc. It is also used as an extraction solvent for drugs like pancreatin, pepsin, tanin chlorophyl etc. It finds application in purification of asphalt, bitumen, some rubbers and for dewaxing of petroleum. It is also used in the manufacture of dissolved acetylene gas.
  • ACETONE is miscible with commonly used solvents.
