The company started its manufacturing activity in 1968 with production of Cumene, Phenol, Acetone, Phthalic Anhydride and their derivatives, utilising technologies supplied by renowned international licensors. The technology for Cumene was obtained from UOP, Phenol from BP Chemicals, Phthalic Anhydride from Scientific Design and Diacetone Alcohol from BP Chemicals.
Over the years, the company internalised the technologies thoroughly and based on in-house expertise, embarked upon several capacity expansions, energy conservation and pollution control projects and a range of
specialties based on resource optimisation programs. While these programs were conceived and implemented entirely with
SI Group-India Limited's own R&D efforts, great emphasis was laid on resource conservation, converting liabilities into assets and adoption of environment friendly and cleaner technology. These initiatives of the company have resulted in significant improvement in overall operations.
The company strongly believes in enhancing its knowledge base by sharing it with all those interested and also promotes the principles of Responsible CareŽ. Various in-house seminars and awareness programs are being conducted by our workmen for the benefit of school teachers and children, medical practitioners, journalists, police personnel, traffic police, fire brigade staff and various industries.
SI Group-India Limited is approved as a training institute by the State Government, for imparting training to the drivers carrying hazardous goods and this training is imparted by the company to drivers at the frequency of two months.
SI Group-India Limited has trained about 500 police personnel for handling chemical transportation emergencies and these training programs are held on a regular basis.

SI Group-India Limited's products includes a mix of commodity and speciality chemicals, including Cumene, Phenol, Acetone, Diacetone Alcohol, Phthalic Anhydride, Isophorone, Isobutyl Benzene, Diphenyl Oxide, several Alkyl Phenols, Acetophenone, Alpha Methyl Styrene and unsaturated dimers of Alpha Methyl Styrene.
