| Application
- PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE is used in
the manufacture of alkyd resins for paints and varnishes.
- PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE esters like
DOP, DIOP, DNP, DIDP etc. are the most acceptable plasticizers for PVC products. Whereas
they are the characterised by their low volatility, high water resistance and better
electrical properties, other phthalate plasticizers like BBP, BOP, DCHP satisfy fast
gelling and low temperature requirement of vinyl resin based products.
- PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE is used in the
manufacture of unsaturated polyester resins.
- PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE finds
applications as Dye intermediate and also in the manufacture of pigments. whereas
Anthraquinone and its derivatives are used in dyes, pigments like Phthalocyanines are used
as colouring agents in laminates varnish, printing ink and plastic industries.
- PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE is used in
the manufacture of Tetrachloro Phthalic Anhydride which finds applications in reactive
fire retardant in unsaturated polyesters.
